APC South West leaders converged in Lagos at Lagos State government house Marina on Friday 6th May 2022 to deliberate on the political fortune and direction of the South West region in the party and at the end of the deliberation, the former national chairman of the party chief Bisi Akande in reading out the communique, disclosed that the South West must produce the next President of Nigeria in 2023 among other recommendations which included that all aspirants of the party from the zone, must work for the success of whoever emerges as the party flagbearer in the primaries scheduled for later in the month.
In attendance at the meeting were the national leader of the APC and presidential aspirant Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, Aremo Segun Osoba, Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo who is also a presidential aspirant, Governor’s Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and a presidential aspirant, senator and presidential aspirant Ibikunle Amosun, Senator Iyiola Omisore the national secretary of the party, right honourable Femi Gbajabiamila speaker of the house of representatives, ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola the minister of interior among others.
