Opinion: The arrogance of failure
May be I am being deceived by my instinct but I’m sure I’m a master of what I’m doing.
I know for sure who is contesting the next presidential election and I know who is living a life of fantasy.
My mother used to tell me that if someone is deceiving you, you must not deceive yourself. If sycophants are hailing you that you are on the right path and you know you are not, kindly turn back and start all over again.
It is a sin to deceive your followers and a greater sin to keep deceiving yourself.
Political realities is always overcomes political sentiments.
Although I don’t know who will become the next president of Nigeria but I know who will never scale through the primaries talkless of becoming president.
I have a friend who is like a sister who always talks about a particular presidential candidate of People Democratic Party. She wanted me to tell her the honest truth about her candidate.
I know for sure that the serious contestants among the various candidates contesting the Presidential primaries of the PDP are the one moving from one state to another canvassing for delegates votes.
The other candidates going around visiting traditional rulers, former heads of state are the people that need the pictures from such visits for their souvenir. We call them “people of the camera”.
They are good with posing for thr camera. They are in every state of the federation always looking for public attention. They are good in what they doing, being show biz fashionistas
But what beats me hollow is wondering how long and at what age they will continue to deceive themselves.
I have a lot of personal respect for Bola Tinubu, who I believe is one of the most versatile politicians in Nigeria today. I also have reasons to believe that he is one of the most influential politicians in the south west. Today, he is acting more sensibly than other Southern aspirants in courting the delegates across the country .
Osinbajo is just delusional. He thinks he can win the All Progressive Congress primaries by speaking English. Even Buhari did not command the delegates votes to make him win.
Yes, he has name recognition. But his name recognition in the North is like beer. Northerners know it, but reject it!
