22-Yr-Old Tricyclist Rapes, Robs Passenger in Ogun

A young man of 22, whose sexual urge seemed uncontrollable and, acting on his possession of a life snuffing tool, gun, forced himself to have carnal knowledge of a woman old enough to be his mother.

The suspect, Rasaq Taoheed, a tricycle operator, who is currently in police net, did not stop at that; he went as far as collecting every dime his victim had on her and, was on the verge of accomplishing the last lap of his wicked act when help came for the victim.

Rasaq, having achieved his first two topmost desires of sleeping with the woman and drainied her purse, headed towards an unknown destination during which the victim noticed the presence of some people by the roadside and raised an alarm, leading to her rescue and arrest of the randy suspect.

The woman, in her narratives, told police that she boarded the suspect’s tricycle on Monday, June 20 from Pakoto bus stop, to alight at Iyana Coker, both within Ifo axis of Ogun State.

Mid way into the journey, he branched off the Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, arousing the victim’s suspicion and protest, followed by her probing the operator.

But In a predetermined act, the momentary ‘abductor’ reached for his locally-made pistol, which he pointed at the victim, with a threat to silent her, should she attempt to play smart.

The suspect then drove her into the premises
Olose Primary School in Ifo, where he raped her and collected the physical cash on her.

The suspect later ran out of luck when, according to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, he made for another route, off the victim’s destination.

“But on getting to Oritameje area, she sighted some people and she raised an alarm that led to the arrest of the suspect”, Oyeyemi said.

According to the PPRO, “The suspect was arrested following a distress call received by policemen at Ifo Divisional Headquarters at about 4a.m of the said date that a middle- aged lady who boarded a tricycle from Iyana coker in Ifo raised alarm that the tricycle operator was taking her to unknown place for reason not known to her”.

Upon the distress call, the police spokesman said, “The DPO, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested”, adding that,
the suspect confessed to commission of the crime”, and that the tricycle and locally-made pistol were recovered from him .

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has, however, ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
